KINETICO K5 DRINKING WATER STATION® with VOC Guard
The K5 with VOC Guard is our most advanced reverse osmosis system ever, significantly reducing more contaminants than any other drinking water treatment unit. The K5 with VOC Guard tackles even the toughest water-quality challenges while producing more water faster than any other comparable system. So you won't need to ration or wait for your water.
You can customize the FlexFilters in your K5 with VOC Guard according to the specific water challenges you're facing now or that you may encounter in the future. Filters are available for viruses/bacteria, arsenic, chloramine, chlorine/sediment, and VOC reduction. The tap water supplied to Cleveland and the surrounding cities meets standards when distributed, but can always be improved and made safer for you and your family. These filters play a pivotal role in making the K5 work for virtually every household's specific water needs.
The K5 with VOC Guard conveniently dispenses water right at your sink from an exclusive, lead-free faucet, which is available in a variety of finishes. It also features QuickFlo® technology to deliver a strong, steady stream of high-quality water when you want it. And, thanks to the EverClean® Rinse, the K5 with VOC Guard uses high-quality water to clean itself, which keeps the system in top working order and extends the membrane’s life.
Additional features like the MACguard® Filter and PureMometer® Filter Life Indicator let you know when it's time for filter changes and prevent you from pushing the filters past their capacities. Quick-disconnect filter cartridges make changing filters a snap.
The K5 Drinking Water Station with VOC Guard is protected by a 10-year limited warranty, including the membrane.
Customize Your K5 With VOC Guard With Our FlexFilters
Sediment Prefilter
The Sediment Prefilter cartridge is designed to reduce sediment content during the prefiltration stage. It is commonly used for well water supplies.
Purefecta® Guard
The Purefecta® Guard cartridge generates biopure drinking water by significantly reducing 99.99999% of bacteria and 99.99% of viruses.
High Capacity Carbon/Sediment Prefilter
The High Capacity Carbon/Sediment Prefilter cartridge is designed to reduce sediment and chlorine content during the prefiltration stage. It is most generally used for municipal water supplies or in cases where water is treated with chlorine.
Arsenic Guard
The Arsenic Guard cartridge is specifically designed to reduce arsenic (AS III) in water.
K5 Reverse Osmosis Membrane
The reverse osmosis membrane is the heart of the K5 Drinking Water Station and its design is exclusive to Kinetico. It is not a FlexFilter and does not need to be replaced regularly like FlexFilters.
Mineral Plus
The Mineral Plus is an additive cartridge that lets you add beneficial minerals such as magnesium and calcium to your treated drinking water.
Taste And Odor Postfilter
The K5 Drinking Water Station’s postfilter reduces tastes, odors and aesthetic chlorine before water is consumed to ensure it tastes great.
VOC Guard
Our VOC Guard significantly reduces volatile organic compounds like pesticides, paints, cleaning supplies and other chemicals that may be in your water.
Perchlorate Guard
The Perchlorate Guard cartridge significantly reduces perchlorate in water. Perchlorate is a byproduct of certain forms of manufacturing, but it can also occur naturally.
Chloramine Guard
The Chloramine Guard cartridge is designed to significantly reduce chloramine, a chemical compound made of free chlorine and ammonia. Chloramine is used to treat approximately 1/3 of US municipal water sources.
What is the K5 Drinking Water Station?
The Kinetico K5 Drinking Water Station with VOC Guard is an advanced under-sink reverse osmosis (RO) system designed to provide high-quality drinking water right at your tap. It treats water used for drinking, cooking, and ice, delivering purified water on demand.
What does it do?
The K5 with VOC Guard is designed to significantly reduce 70+ contaminants, including:
- Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) - such as industrial solvents, fuel byproducts, and chemicals that can affect taste, odor, and safety.
- Chlorine and chloramine - improving taste and odor.
- Dissolved solids - including salts and minerals that impact water quality.
- Common contaminants - such as lead, cysts, and other impurities often found in municipal water supplies.
How does it work?
The Kinetico K5 uses a multi-stage reverse osmosis filtration process to purify water at the point of use. Water passes through several specialized cartridges, including pre-filters for sediment and chlorine reduction, a high-efficiency RO membrane, and the VOC Guard post-filter. The VOC Guard cartridge is specifically designed to target volatile organic compounds that can pass through standard RO systems, providing an added layer of protection and peace of mind.
What do you get?
- Cleaner, better-tasting water for drinking, cooking, and ice.
- Reduced exposure to VOCs, chlorine, chloramine, and other common contaminants.
- Water that supports healthier beverages, meals, and appliances like coffee makers and ice machines.
- A certified drinking water system - the K5 Drinking Water Station is tested and certified by the Water Quality Association for contaminant reduction and performance.
What is Reverse Osmosis & How Does It Work?
Reverse osmosis, or RO, is a water treatment process in which water passes through a semipermeable membrane. Reverse osmosis is known for producing great-tasting pure water and being highly effective for contaminant removal. With many homes in the Greater Cleveland area relying on municipally-supplied tap water, this is one of the most effective ways to provide yourself and your family with water that is above the standard.
Reverse osmosis technology relies on pressure to push the water molecules through the membrane. Water pressure varies by water source. City water is supplied between 40 and 100 psi (pounds per square inch). Well water is delivered between 20 and 60 psi, depending on your pump. The production rate of the reverse osmosis membrane is dependent on factors such as temperature, pressure and Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) levels. Since reverse osmosis works slowly, most RO systems include a storage tank that collects treated water. This feature is included so you can fill your glass or pitcher with clean water whenever you want it.
Because reverse osmosis water is so pure, it can pick up bad tastes and odors from the storage tank’s bladder or walls if it is stored for long periods of time. Running the water through a postfilter once it leaves the storage tank will remove residual tastes or odors before the water is dispensed. for more than 90 contaminants that can be found in water. While the municipal water that is sourced from Lake Erie is cleaned and deemed safe to drink, adding an extra layer of protection is crucial.
The water you and your family drink and cook with today is probably not as clean as it could be. It’s good enough, but is “good enough” okay with you? Every year, we learn more about what is in our water and how these contaminants affect our health. At present, the EPA has set maximum contaminant levels for more than 90 contaminants that can be found in water. While the municipal water that is sourced from Lake Erie is cleaned and deemed safe to drink, adding an extra layer of protection is crucial.
