What is it the CRS?

The Chloramine Reduction System (CRS) is a whole-house filtration system that treats all water entering your home to reduce chloramine and chlorine levels. It’s typically installed on the main water line, often in conjunction with a Kinetico water softener.

What does it do?

The whole-home CRS is designed to target and significantly reduce:

• Chloramine (combines chlorine/ammonia disinfectant) - often used by municipal water treatment plants.
• Chlorine (free chlorine disinfectant) - present in many municipal water treatment plants. 

How does it work?

Kinetico's single-tank, non-electric, whole-home CRS, which uses our exclusive media, Chloraban®, to reduce the level of both chloramine and chlorine in your water, is installed where your water enters your home. While common carbon filters and dechlorinators can help filter out chlorine, chloramine is a more stable additive that requires a more reactive media, like our Chloraban media. Kinetico CRS systems are certified by the Water Quality Association for whole-house reduction of chloramine.
